Twiztid - Heartbroken & Homicidal

My schedule cleared a bit so the expected delay of this week's report did not happen. Unfortunately, I'm currently working through my last options to try to get Google's attention and see if I can get back into their public index. Since I don't know people there, unlike various tech bloggers who have problems with Google that they can solve via inside contacts, I don't have many options left.

And, given that last week when I asked for feedback nobody paid attention and no blogs or related websites are linking to me and the traffic seems to be gradually dropping, if I can't work out things with Google, this project will end. However, I will continue to keep Hip Hop Albums @ netweed going for the foreseeable future. I'll let you know as soon as I know.

Update: Yeah, between the Google Machine and the general lack of support (except for the rare few who've made positive comments or sent such email, 10 to 20 maybe?, over the life of this blog), I can't really justify forcing myself to be committed to a weekly schedule that ties me down on Sundays with relatively little reward.  But that's cool.  People don't want it enough, I guess, and if that's the case then I can't hold it against anybody.

hello mate, just read your latest update for this site and just thought id shout to say that i read this weekly n think its a great site! i think the point you made about nobody getting back to you may be (i dont want you to take this as a disrespect) that, like me, i tend to jus skim through the pics and artists name/album name (because they are written in bold). Therefore, i didnt even see the post where you asked for feedback! maybe trying a new lay out with a stand out ''feedback and news'' section at the top of the page would help you get messages across? i dont mean to sound like im bitching and as i said i think its a great site for reference! i hope you do decide to keep doing this site and your work IS appreciated! take care man. ish

Those are very good points, particularly on how folks probably read the blog and how to better get them to see that I'm trying to get their feedback.

Thanks on all counts!

Like the poster above, I never saw anything about feedback at all.

Regardless, I want to let you know how awesome this blog is. I've been checking it weekly for the past 2 years and without it I would have missed A LOT of albums and new artists.

With that said, I understand if you want to close 'er down but i'll be lost without it.

I appreciate that. And I've gotten really positive individual feedback like that every now and then. So I don't really want to shut it down. Plus, having something that's weekly helps me stay on top of things.

I've thought about moving the report to a different blog since it actually started that way but now I'm worried that Google might then penalize that blog.

I've had other bad experiences with them that make it clear that once you get on their bad side with something, they don't seem to follow their publicly stated rules.

In any case, thanks for the kind words. They do mean a lot. Being a hip hop blogger means you get a lot of flak. Not so much here but one of the reasons I burned out and then sold both ProHipHop and Hip Hop Press goes back to trying to reason with a-holes and I regret having done that.

I should have cut to the chase with a lot of those people and seriously regret having given them the benefit of the doubt. It took out a lot of me.

Anyway, thanks!

Man, I love what you do. Please keep doing it. If it weren't for you I wouldn't have found half of the cd's I've found over the past year or so. I'm just trying to show you some love and let you know that we are out there and we do support the shit out of what you do.

Thanks, man, it's not like I need folks to be out praising me on the daily but I did need to hear that this means something to folks.

Hey, just want to say its a great blog and I understand how it is pouring out alot of energy to something and not getting feedback, that's the way it is. You know there are people out there who do crappy blogs and promote crappy music and they are all in the Source and XXL and stuff. I remember when I was doing it I wanted to do something different, like outside the mainstream, and I don't know, I'm not feeling it. I think that you started when I did back in like the early to mid 2000s, when the whole blogging thing was young and there was so much real creativity back then. Now, it all seems like net versions of Vibe, the Source, XXL, and it sucks to me. At least you got some $ out of it, I just got bored, don't have the time or the enthusiasm. That's how it gets. Hope you keep the update going though. I know that was more than you wanted to read. Robert

MANY PEOPLE ENJOY AND APPRECIATE YOUR EFFORTS THROUGH THIS SITE. UNFORTUNATELY IN THIS DAY AND AGE OF THE HUSSLE IT IS HARD TO REAP ANY BENEFITS. PEOPLE ARE ALL IN A RUSH AND A SIMPLE COMMENT LIKE THE ONE IM MAKING ONLY TAKES A FEW MINUTES. STILL, THIS IS MORE THEN WHAT PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO GIVE TODAY. I KNOW MANY DO APPRECIATE AND LOVE THIS SITE BUT YOU WILL NEVER KNOW BECAUSE MOST HAVE BEEN CONDITIONED TO TAKE WHAT THEY WANT AS FAST AS POSSIBLE AND NEGATE ANY PERSONAL TIME OR EFFORT. GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE YOU KEEP IT UP AND NOT TAKE IT DOWN DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOUR PRAISE IS NOT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES...IT STILL EXISTS IN THE FORM OF POSITIVE VIBES TO YOU FROM COUNTLESS PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD...

Thanks, y'all. It does make a difference to hear some positive response.

I run a review site called Audioleak and believe me.....this site has helped me so much to keep content coming in. Personally i think you do an amazing job and continue it.
